Drafting a Workprogramme for the future ELINET
The official funding period for ELINET by the European Commission has ended on 31 March 2016, but ELINET will continue its work to improve literacy policies across Europe. A Sustainability Committee was proposed and agreed by delegates at the final conference in Amsterdam (21 – 22 January 2016) and assigned to make recommendations for future ELINET developments and priorities.
The elected Members of the Sustainability Committee are:
Viv Bird, Greg Brooks, Rosie Flewitt, Christine Garbe, Kees Hammink, Jean-Pierre Jeantheau, Fabio Nascimbeni, Karin Plötz, Helin Puksand, Stefan Salamonsberger, Sari Sulkunen, Ariana Vacaretu.
The committee met in Cologne (3 – 5 March 2016) discussing options for future ELINET organisational structures, working out various fundraising strategies for sustaining the network infrastructure, and drafting a content agenda with different possible topics. This work programme, drafted by Christine Garbe, Karin Plötz and Stefan Salamonsberger, was discussed by ELINET members at the Conference of the EU Policy Networks in Brussels (11 – 13 April 2016). The Sustainability Committee will further refine it according to those discussions and submit the final paper for review, comments and vote to all ELINET members in June / July 2016.
