From books to new media - A conference focusing on the diversity of learning methods

Why do we have the tendency to differentiate between old and new media when discussing the means of acquiring literacy skills?

At this year's DGLA conference both positions are merged, yielding a broad array of diverse good-practice examples featuring different media resources. One central question remains: how do we develop literacy skills with success?

The conference is organised in cooperation with the EU project ELINET (European Literacy Policy Network) from 27 to 28 november 2015 in Berlin, Germany. ELINET is currently collecting examples of good practice in raising literacy levels throughout Europe, and has developed a European framework for this purpose. Both partners aim to present a balanced and promising synopsis of diverse good practice examples. The conference is aimed at teachers as well as to the broad academic public and those interested in literacy.
